There is only one day a year when WNY children can experience a full schedule of excitement centered on books written exclusively for them. That day is coming on 11/11/17, when the 3rd annual Western New York Children’s Book Expo comes back to Buffalo!
What is the Western New York Children’s Book Expo?
The Expo is an event dedicated to children’s literacy. It takes place at the Buffalo/Niagara Convention Center and forty acclaimed authors and illustrators — three themselves under age 12 — will be present to interact with kids, sign books, discuss story telling, do readings and stage various demonstrations. Storybook characters will meet, greet and take photos with visitors. Even Curious George will EXPLORE the magic of books along with guests throughout the day.
Planning Your Visit to the Expo
Doors open at 10 and event run until 3:00 p.m. Admission is FREE. While activities are geared to students pre-K thru middle school, all ages are welcome. Limited parking is also FREE in the Fernberg Parking Ramp, 2000 Pearl Street. The expo closes KidsLit week, a 7 day celebration of children’s literature. During KidsLit week, expo authors visit schools, libraries, community centers, museums, and other
cultural venues throughout Western New York. In 2016, expo school visits connected authors with 20,500 students, teachers and administrators.
