There are still a few weeks left before the school bus shows up; let’s pack them with fun things to do before summer ends!
If you’re anything like me, I’m realizing I didn’t enjoy summer as much as I would like to. So, I made a list of a few fun things to do before summer ends and I wanted to share it with you!

Visit Niagara Falls
I always forget we have some pretty fun things to do right in Niagara Falls. If you’re looking for something fun to do before summer ends, head to the Falls and be a tourist for the day. Here’s a few can’t-miss stops to help you plan your day.
A Day of Activity and Adventure
If you’re looking for a way to help the kids burn some energy, there are a few ropes courses that would make for a great day trip and are perfect adventure for kids 7 and up.
There is Sky High Adventure Park in Ellicottvile and Urban High Ropes Course at Riverworks.
Both places have things to do around the park so you could truly make a day of it and explore Ellicottville or Downtown Buffalo.
Visit Lockport
Head to Lockport and check out the Lockport Cave & Underground Boat Ride! You can do a walking tour and the boat ride or pick between the two. At one point they had the Niagara Zipper too but I couldn’t find information about it on their site as of 8/12/21.
After your tour, stop at the Lake Effect Ice Cream, or check out Cornerstone Arena to see what’s on their calendar. They have free play Thursdays and they also have scheduled open skate, ice bumper cares and more.
Go on a Safari
Going to The Buffalo Zoo is always a fun thing to do during summer, but if you’ve already been and/or you’re looking for a more interactive animal experience try going on a safari without leaving WNY!
Hidden Valley Animal Adventure is just a short drive from Buffalo in Varysburg! There are over 350 animals on the grounds where you can do a drive-thru safari, or take their bus. They also have a spot for smaller animals similar to a petting zoo. Visit the animals and spend the day exploring the grounds!
Hit the Beach
Last, but certainly not least, plan a beach day! There are a lot of great beaches in and around WNY. Here’s a list to consider.
