Creative Coding with Scratch Summer Camp

August 6 @ 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 1:00 pm, repeating until August 7, 2020

Open your child’s eyes to the world of creative coding using Scratch, a program that helps kids visualize and then craft code.

Scratch Scene

Aspiring coders can dive into creating animated stories and interactive experiences while learning essential programming concepts with Scratch. This drag and drop programming style allows campers to learn basic computational thinking while creating fun games and stories. If you have a child interested in learning to program Scratch is a great first platform. Campers will create several projects during this hands-on coding camp. Snacks will be provided, but please plan on bringing a bagged lunch! No prior programming or coding experience is required.

Camp Details:

  • Dates: August 3rd- August 7th, 1pm to 4:30pm
  • Price: $165
  • Ages: 8 & Up
  • Includes: A daily snack and take-home drawstring bag

Interested in having your camper stay for the full day?

Check out our morning session of Mini Computer: Microbit! If your camper stays for the full day, we will be providing supervision from 12pm-1pm between the end time and start time of the two camps. During this time it is recommended that your camper bring a packed lunch to eat. We’ll also be playing videos during the break or depending on the number of campers (and on the weather) we’ll be going outside so they can eat their lunch while getting some fresh air.

Where is the camp located?

The tech camps are held on the campus of Daemen College on Main Street in Amherst, NY. Facilities include the Business Building which houses several computer labs on campus.

How many children in each camp?

Just like a regular class, we ensure a good adult-to-child ratio. Depending on age, this ranges from 1:8 to 1:10, so most camps are maxed out at 20 children. Daemen Tech Camps reserves the right to cancel a camp should enrollment fall below five (5) children.

What is the refund policy?

Refunds will be given only as a result of injury or illness. The refund will be based upon a percent of the daily loss, less a $25 non-refundable fee. A $25 processing fee will also be charged for any cancellation.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
