Erie Zoo

When I asked the F4K community what they like to do when visiting Erie, PA, many said they enjoy visiting their zoo!  The Erie Zoo has a number of features that make it different from the Buffalo Zoo, like an entire section devoted to Wild Asia, a barn area and more.  You can visit their website and check out their animal cams to get a feel for what to expect when you visit, but many Buffalonians speak highly of the Erie Zoo and say it should definitely be part of your plans if you’re visiting Erie, PA.  Visit their website for more information and to plan your visit.

Splash Lagoon

Splash Lagoon is an indoor waterpark that has attractions for kids of all ages.  You can easily drive there for the day, or do an overnight trip. There are a number of hotels nearby. Visit their website for information.

Presque Isle State Park and Beach

Presque Isle State Park is also close by.  It’s a must stop in the summer, but if you get a nice day during spring break, the waterfront area could be a nice place to spend the day.   Here’s a link to all the outdoor adventure opportunities in Erie, PA.

Waldameer Water World

If you’re looking to get outside and enjoy the weather, Waldameer & Water World is an option during your visit to Erie.  Waldameer is an amusement park with over 100 rides, slides and attractions for kids of all ages.

They have different admission rates that allow you to choose if you want to do the amusement rides and the water park or just one of the two.

If rides and water parks aren’t your thing, Waldameer notes on the home page of their website that you can enter the amusement park for free if you just want to eat and play their midway games.  Visit their site to plan your visit.

Visit their Murals

Just like WNY, Erie, PA has a number of beautiful murals to find and enjoy.  There’s a trail of murals to see.  Here’s a list!

Food Stops That are Fun 4 Kids

Here’s a list from Tripadvisor of family friendly restaurants in Erie, PA.
