MOM REVIEW from 2009

It took me 3 years to discover this hidden treasure. The Buffalo Zoo offers Cub Club for children ages 2-4.
From the Buffalo Zoo website:
This is a wonderful program for youngsters (ages 2 to 4) to begin learning the ABC’s of the amazing animal kingdom. Activities include stories, crafts, and exploratory investigations designed to uncover the mysteries of our animal friends. Kids will be spell bound as they interact with live animals for their very first time!
I just started taking Big B over for the Fall Session this year and he loves it! Each week Big B learns about a different letter of the alphabet. A few weeks ago the letter was F. There were a couple of frog coloring pages, a handwriting sheet to practice writing the letter F, a craft (a frog made with a small green paper plate)utilizing the letter F, a story, a snack, and finally the kids got to see some frogs. Last week was the letter G and they actually got to touch a gecko and then see a gemsbock.
Cub Club classes meet once a week either on Wednesday or Thursday mornings for 1 hour. If you are a member of the zoo the cost is only $6 per week. Well worth it! If you are not a zoo member the cost is $6 plus adult admission.
Preregistration is required so call 995-6128 to see when preregistration begins for the Winter Session or check back to this page periodically for updated information.
ETA: I just received a Zoo mailing that lists the Winter Session 2010 as starting January 13th
