Betty's Music Together

The following is from Miss Betty who is a local Music Together instructor:

Music Together is an internationally recognized early childhood music program for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and kindergarteners ages birth through five and their parents or caregivers. First offered to the public in 1987, it pioneered the concept of a research-based, developmentally appropriate early childhood music curriculum that strongly emphasizes and facilitates adult involvement. During class we sing, dance, enjoy rhythmic chants and finger plays, play with props and instruments and even have a play-along “jam-session”! Activities are developmentally appropriate and support the unique learning styles of very young children. Children are encouraged to participate at their own level in a playful, relaxed atmosphere with no expectation of performance. Class tuition includes 2 copies of the current semester CDs, an illustrated songbook with activities to try at home and a parent guide DVD and booklet. Music includes traditional as well as original songs in a wide variety of meters, tonalities and cultural styles, with 9 song collections rotating over a 3-year cycle. Pure fun with your child every week!

I did Music Together with Big B in 2007 and 2008. We both had such a fun experience with Miss Betty! I love music, so the fact that adult participation is highly encouraged was nice for me. The songs are very catchy but not in an annoying way. We still listen to the CD's we got from our classes.
